Aerosmith's Steven Tyler offered to help Nirvana's Kurt Cobain kick heroin in 1992, but Cobain responded with a savage remark. Tyler recognized the "pain" in Cobain's eyes and contacted Nirvana's management to set up a heart-to-heart chat with the younger musician. However, Cobain was in denial about the extent of his drug use and refused Tyler's offer. Cobain died nine months later after discharging himself from a Los Angeles rehab facility.
