Beloved Los Angeles TV News Reporter Tony Valdez Passes Away at 78

Tony Valdez, a longtime reporter for FOX 11, has passed away at the age of 78 due to end-stage kidney failure. Valdez was a trailblazing journalist who broke the color barrier for Latinos in Los Angeles. He worked for KTTV for 35 years, covering everything from the Watts Riots to the O.J. Simpson trial. Valdez was also an avid photographer, musician, and docent at the LA Conservancy. He is survived by his son and three grandchildren.
