John Stamos Opens Up About Trauma, Divorce, Lessons, and Addiction

Actor John Stamos has revealed that he was sexually abused as a child by his former babysitter when he was around 10 or 11 years old. Stamos, known for his role in Full House, disclosed that he had suppressed the trauma for decades until writing his memoir forced him to confront his past. He never spoke about the abuse and attributed it to being "girls, man," but acknowledged the lasting impact it had on him. Stamos also discussed his battle with alcohol and substance abuse, which intensified after the death of his father and divorce in 2004. He eventually sought help and got sober after a DUI arrest in 2015. Stamos credits his wife and son for helping him stay on the path of sobriety.
