TL;DR

WWE is considering having Cody Rhodes win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam instead of WrestleMania 40, with the idea of unifying the two belts after dethroning Seth Rollins at WrestleMania and defeating the winner of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns. Despite negative reactions to The Rock's involvement, it appears that Rhodes is still intended to dethrone Reigns in the future.
