Streaming Crackdown: Disney and Hulu to Terminate Password Sharing

Hulu, controlled by Disney, has updated its subscriber agreement to officially prohibit password sharing with individuals outside of the subscriber's primary residence, effective Jan. 25 for new subscribers and March 14 for existing ones. The aim is to increase paying subscribers by preventing freeloaders from using shared accounts. The updated terms state that Hulu may analyze account usage and terminate access if violations are found. Disney CEO Bob Iger previously mentioned plans to address account sharing, and Hulu also updated its dispute-resolution policies, allowing customers to opt out of arbitration for resolving disputes.
