Disney Shuts Down Star Wars Hotel Just One Year After Launch.

Disney is closing its Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel in Orlando at the end of September, just 18 months after opening. The $1,200-per-person-per-night immersive experience, which allowed guests to embark on a one-night journey together, interact with Star Wars characters and receive lightsaber training, was described by Disney as "a business decision". The company said it would contact guests who booked reservations after September 30 to offer alternatives.
