King Charles III celebrated his official birthday with a military parade called Trooping the Colour, his first as sovereign, starring 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians, and 200 horses. The parade has been a tradition for 260 years, and Queen Elizabeth II was the one who received the annual honor for the past seven decades. Charles rode on horseback throughout the two hours of parading, accompanied by his son and heir Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and two of the king’s siblings, the Princess Royal, Princess Anne; and Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.
