Coroner links California student’s London death to Tirzepatide weight-loss drug

A 19-year-old California law student, Josephine Nasr, studying at the University of East London, was found dead in her dorm in September 2025. An inquest concluded the death was a cardiac arrhythmia caused by an electrolyte imbalance from hypoglycemia, triggered by Tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound), a prescribed weight‑loss drug; autopsy noted a congenital heart condition (myocardial bridging) that may have contributed, and an empty Tirzepatide vial was found at the scene.
