"Royal Fans Prepare for King Charles III's Coronation Spectacle"

King Charles III will be formally crowned in Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023, in the first British coronation in 70 years. The ceremony will be shorter and more multicultural than previous coronations, with 12 new pieces of music commissioned by Charles. The coronation will include six parts, including recognition, oath, anointing, investiture, enthronement and homage, and a closing procession. Charles will be crowned with St. Edward’s Crown and will later wear the Imperial State Crown. Camilla will wear Queen Mary’s Crown, which contains the Kohinoor diamond.
