Uganda Pulls Out of Invictus Games in Show of Loyalty to King Charles

Uganda’s defense chief General Muhoozi Kainerugaba announced on X that Uganda is withdrawing from the 2027 Invictus Games to show allegiance to King Charles III, with the Birmingham-hosted event set for July 2027. The move comes as King Charles clarified in a lord-chamberlain letter that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remain non-working royals and private citizens. Harry, Meghan and their children Archie (7) and Lilibet (5) recently returned to the UK, enrolled Archie and Lilibet in a UK prep school, and are house-hunting near Charles’s Highgrove residence, while Invictus continues to grow as Harry’s flagship event.
