Youngstown Woman Receives Extended Jail Time for Concealing HIV

A Youngstown woman who failed to inform her sex partner that she was HIV positive received an additional month in jail for showing up late and not properly dressed to her sentencing hearing. Caroline Weaver, 22, had pleaded guilty to attempted felonious assault after having intimate relations with a 21-year-old woman and later disclosing her HIV status. Judge Scott Krichbaum sentenced Weaver to 12 months in prison for the assault conviction and added another 30 days for contempt of court due to her violation of bond conditions.
