Downtown Baltimore hit by explosion and water main break.

Four people were injured in an explosion caused by a steam pipe rupture in downtown Baltimore. Crews from Baltimore Gas and Electric, the city Department of Public Works, and the city Office of Emergency Management were at the scene due to a previous water main break. BGE said its crews struck an unmarked pipe, causing a water leak that led to the steam line rupture. The steam system in the area has been turned off, and electric and gas service remain unaffected. The public is asked to avoid the area as officials have closed several streets.
