Unresponsive Plane Triggers Fighter Jet Response and Sonic Boom in DC Area

A Cessna 560 Citation V crashed near the George Washington National Forest in Virginia after its pilot became unresponsive, prompting US F-16 fighter jets to attempt to intercept the aircraft. The jets did not shoot down the plane, and no survivors were found at the crash site. The private jet was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne, Inc., out of Florida, and was carrying four people, including the company's president's daughter, granddaughter, and nanny. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
