Larry Connor, a 73-year-old private astronaut, and a team of four U.S. Air Force specialists have set a new record for the highest HALO (high altitude, low open) formation skydive by jumping from a balloon at 38,000 feet in the air over New Mexico. They linked arms while freefalling at speeds of up to 189 miles per hour before deploying their parachutes at 4,000 feet above the ground. The jump was validated by an official observer from Guinness World Records and served as a fundraising goal of $1 million for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
