SoCal baseball team hosts tribute night for Jackie the bald eagle

Southern California's Ontario Tower Buzzers will host 'Fly High, Jackie Night' on Aug. 23 at ONT Field to honor Jackie, the beloved Big Bear Valley bald eagle who died Aug. 10. Half of proceeds from tickets purchased via a special link will go to Friends of Big Bear Valley. Jackie gained worldwide fame via the Big Bear Bald Eagle Cam with mate Shadow; she was rescued after an altercation and died after severe health problems, with necropsy results pending. Remains will be given to the National Eagle Repository as part of federal procedures.
