45-year-old cold case in rural Nevada solved: Ohio woman's remains identified.

The remains of a woman found in a garment bag in rural Nevada 45 years ago have been identified as Florence Charleston, a Cleveland woman in her late 60s who had moved to Portland, Oregon, shortly before her death. The investigation into her death is ongoing. The case had been dormant for 40-plus years until advancements in DNA testing led to an identification. Private laboratory Othram Inc. helped link Charleston to the unidentified remains by using a DNA sample from one of her nieces still living in Ohio.
