Alex Murdaugh's Friend Sentenced to Prison for Involvement in Maid's Family Theft

Cory Fleming, a longtime friend of disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh, has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for conspiring to steal millions of dollars in insurance settlements from the sons of Murdaugh's deceased housekeeper. Fleming, who turned himself in to federal marshals, admitted to knowing that Murdaugh would steal from the family but underestimated the amount. This comes after another associate of Murdaugh, banker Russell Laffitte, was sentenced to seven years in prison for aiding in the theft. Murdaugh, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife and son, still faces numerous charges ranging from theft to drug and money laundering.
