Arrest Made in Murder of Missing Lerna Man

Lance T. Newcomb, a 24-year-old man from Robinson, Illinois, has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the disappearance and murder of 55-year-old Ryan L. Waggoner from Lerna. The Illinois State Police, along with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department, investigated the case, which led them to human remains found at a rural address in Crawford County. Newcomb, along with two others, was initially arrested on a charge of concealment of a homicidal death. The remains have been positively identified as those of Waggoner, and Newcomb is currently in custody at the Crawford County Jail.
