Asheville Juneteenth Festival Cancelled After Shooting Incident

A shooting at the end of the Juneteenth Festival in Asheville, North Carolina, on June 17 led to the cancellation of the second day of the festival. Two juveniles were shot and taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 16-year-old has been charged with two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The festival was cancelled due to logistical considerations and the fact that the park was an active crime scene.
