Barricaded suspect shoots NC police officer and K-9 in Oxford.

A police officer and a K-9 were shot while responding to a call in Granville County, North Carolina. The officer was met with gunfire and was struck by at least one bullet, while the K-9 was shot multiple times but is in stable condition. The suspect barricaded himself inside his home and refused to communicate with authorities, leading to an hours-long standoff. The suspect died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The injured officer is recovering at the hospital and is in stable condition.
