Billing dispute erupts in gunfire at Raleigh auto shop; suspect arrested

A 54-year-old Henderson man, Elvin Fields, shot at workers at New Life Auto Care in Raleigh around 12:30 p.m. during a billing dispute, demanded his keys and fired a shot into the ground before fleeing. He was later arrested; police recovered two guns and a bulletproof vest. Fields faces 13 charges, including multiple counts of assault by pointing a gun, second-degree kidnapping, and other gun-associated offenses; no injuries were reported.
