Boston Pizza Chain Owner Arrested for Exploiting and Abusing Workers

The owner of Stash's Pizza, a Boston pizza chain, has been arrested on charges of forced labor. Stavros "Steve" Papantoniadis is accused of physically abusing and threatening employees, many of whom lacked immigration status, and forcing them to work long hours without breaks or overtime compensation. He allegedly routinely threatened to have employees deported and used violence and threats to scare victims into complying with his demands. The forced labor charge carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, up to 5 years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
