Boyfriend Pushes Woman Onto NYC Subway Tracks, Resulting in Double Amputation

A 29-year-old woman had both of her feet amputated after allegedly being pushed onto subway tracks in Manhattan by her boyfriend following an argument, while an unidentified man was killed after being struck by a subway at another location. The incidents are not believed to be connected. Crime in the New York City subway system has been an ongoing issue, prompting Gov. Kathy Hochul to order a force of nearly 1,000 people to conduct bag checks at some of the busiest stations in an effort to combat crime and protect New Yorkers.
