Broad daylight stabbing in Del Rio leaves Texas mom of five dead; three suspects charged

A 32-year-old Texas mother of five, Caroline Peña, was stabbed multiple times in broad daylight at a busy Del Rio intersection near a Sonic and died after being flown to a San Antonio hospital. Sisters Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, and Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, along with Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, were arrested Thursday and charged with Peña’s murder after investigators reviewed surveillance video and interviewed witnesses. The motive hasn’t been released, and authorities say additional charges could follow as the case proceeds; the three suspects were booked at the Del Rio Police Department and later transferred to GEO Correctional Facility.
