Capitol Rioter Charged with Lying to FBI About 'Taking the White House'

William Frederick Beals II, a Georgia man who participated in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, has been charged with lying to the FBI. Beals, who posted a video on social media bragging that rioters "took the White House," is facing a felony count of knowingly making false statements, along with several misdemeanor offenses. He was seen wearing a black helmet with an anti-Antifa sticker and was at the front of the mob during the attack. Beals denied entering the Capitol during interviews with the FBI but was later arrested. Over 1,100 people have been charged in connection with the attack, with the potential for more arrests as the statute of limitations expires in January 2026.
