Carjacker dies after jumping from stolen police car during high-speed chase.

A man in California died after he carjacked a police cruiser and jumped out of the moving vehicle during a high-speed pursuit. The chase began after reports of a reckless driver in the Newhall area. The man stole the police cruiser after crashing his own vehicle. He hit the pavement and smacked his head on the ground before sliding several feet down the 138 Freeway. He was rushed to the hospital but died about four hours later.
