Chicago Police Fatally Shoot Person on West Side

A person was shot and killed by a Chicago police officer on the West Side. The incident occurred when officers saw several people near a vehicle, and one person ran away when officers approached him. The individual turned towards an officer with a gun, and the officer shot him. The person was transported to the hospital where he later died. The officer involved will be placed on administrative duties for at least 30 days, and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating the incident.
