Chicago Police Officer Killed, Suspects in Custody.

At least five people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of off-duty police officer Aréanah Preston in Chicago. Preston was shot and killed during an attempted robbery after completing her shift. The attackers took her gun and fled the scene. Four people were arrested after an armed standoff, and a fifth person was arrested separately. It is not yet clear if all five were involved in the shooting. Mayor Lori Lightfoot expressed condolences to Preston's family and urged Chicagoans to respect police officers.
