Cold Case Cracked: Wichita Police Identify Suspect in Decades-Old Homicide

Wichita police have identified Paul Hart as the suspect in the 34-year-old cold case of Krista Martin's homicide. Hart, who died in 1999, was identified through advanced DNA testing and forensic genetic genealogy. Martin was killed in her apartment in 1989, and the investigation into her death remained unsolved until now. Police determined that she died from blunt force trauma and was sexually assaulted. The case is considered cleared, and if Hart were alive, charges would have been brought against him.
