A woman in Deep River, Connecticut has been charged with 55 counts of animal cruelty after a months-long investigation. Authorities found unsanitary conditions in her home, inadequate food and water for the animals, and seized 43 dogs, three hens, and one rooster. The animals were evaluated by a vet and transported to various animal control facilities. The homeowner is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 8.
