"Controversy Surrounds Death in Custody at Virginia Hospital"

Irvo Otieno, a promising hip-hop artist, was smothered to death on March 6 at Central State Hospital in Virginia, where he was taken due to a mental health crisis. Seven Henrico County sheriff’s deputies and three hospital security guards have been charged with second-degree murder in his death. Otieno's family viewed the video of his death and called for answers as to why no one intervened to keep him from being killed. His mother described him as "brilliant and creative and bright."
