Denver Shooting Injures 9 After Nuggets' NBA Finals Win

Ten people were shot in downtown Denver during celebrations of the Denver Nuggets' NBA Finals victory, with all victims suffering non-life-threatening wounds. Two people were in custody on suspicion of possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and investigators believe the shooting was related to a drug deal that took place while the celebrations were winding down. Five or six of the victims were innocent bystanders, and a significant amount of fentanyl was found at the scene. The shooting occurred steps away from numerous officers who were nearby, and the celebration had prompted city officials to close several roads across downtown to vehicular traffic.
