Derek Chauvin pleads guilty to tax evasion.

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of killing George Floyd, pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting tax evasion for failing to file Minnesota income taxes for the 2016 and 2017 tax years. Chauvin, who is already serving time for Floyd's murder and violating his civil rights, was sentenced to 13 months in prison on the tax charges, but has already been incarcerated for longer than that and was given credit for time served. Chauvin's ex-wife, Kellie May Chauvin, also pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting their failure to file tax returns and will be sentenced in May.
