Domestic violence, self-defense, and gun laws collide in fatal shooting of DC firefighter.

A Washington D.C. firefighter, Carl Braxton, was shot and killed by an armed man after assaulting his girlfriend and making threats against the man who was walking his dog near their home. Braxton was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead. The homicide investigation is ongoing, and the public is asked to come forward with any information. Braxton had been with the D.C. Fire and EMS Department for eight years before his death.
