Driver charged after endangering parade-goers in Portland.

A registered sex offender, Sidney Sean Mecham, drove his truck into a crowded parade route in Portland, Oregon, leading police on a brief chase. Witnesses reported children were still in the road when Mecham's truck careened into the street. He was eventually arrested and charged with recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, attempt to elude, reckless driving, and hit-and-run. Mecham has a lengthy criminal history that includes traffic violations and sex crimes dating back to 1996.
