Duane Owen is set to be executed in Florida for the 1984 bludgeoning death of Georgianna Worden and the stabbing death of 14-year-old Karen Slattery. His last-minute appeal was denied by the U.S. Supreme Court. Owen's last meal was a bacon cheeseburger without a bun, onion rings, strawberries, a vanilla milkshake, and coffee. He spent his last hours alone and had no visits from friends, family, or clergy. This will be the fourth execution in Florida this year, and Owen has spent 38 years on death row. He will be injected with a three-drug cocktail at 6 p.m. tonight.
