The white gunman who killed 23 people in a racist attack on Hispanic shoppers at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, has been sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences for federal hate crime charges. Patrick Crusius, 24, pleaded guilty earlier this year and could still face the death penalty in a separate trial in a Texas court. The judge recommended that Crusius serve his sentence at a maximum security prison in Colorado and receive treatment for a severe mental health condition. Crusius showed no reaction during the hearing.
