Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced CEO of Theranos, is set to begin her 11-year prison sentence for overseeing a blood-testing hoax. She will be incarcerated in a women's prison camp in Bryan, Texas, leaving behind her two young children. Holmes and her former partner, Ramesh Balwani, promised to revolutionize healthcare with a technology that could quickly scan for diseases with a few drops of blood. However, serious flaws in the technology were exposed, leading to the collapse of the company. Holmes was convicted on four felony counts of fraud and conspiracy in January 2022.
