Ex-Memphis police officer cleared in Tyre Nichols' death.

No criminal charges will be brought against former Memphis police officer Preston Hemphill, who was fired for his involvement in the traffic stop that led to the death of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man. The Shelby County District Attorney said that Hemphill was at the scene of the traffic stop, but was never present at the later scene where Nichols was brutally assaulted. The DA added that officials reviewed hours of body camera footage and conducted hours of interviews with the officer, who fired a stun gun at Nichols as the man was running away from the initial traffic stop.
