Fatal Bear Attack in Arizona Shocks Authorities

A 66-year-old man was killed by a male black bear in Arizona while having his morning coffee. The bear dragged him down an embankment before a neighbor shot and killed it. The attack was "highly uncommon" and "appeared to be predatory in nature." Officials said there was nothing at the site that would have precipitated a bear attack. Bear attacks remain exceedingly rare, and fatal attacks even rarer still.
