Florida Mass Shooter Dies in Standoff with Police.

A man wanted for killing a woman and her three children in Polk County was involved in a six-hour standoff with police at a motel in Sanford, Florida. After negotiations, the man was shot and killed by SWAT team members when he reached for his handgun after putting it down on the ground. The man had reportedly told police he would either kill himself or force law enforcement to kill him during the standoff. A nearby shooting at a gas station was not related to the standoff.
