Former couple involved in murder-suicide at local Giant Eagle

The shooter and victim in a suspected murder-suicide at a Giant Eagle store in North Olmsted, Ohio, have been identified as a former married couple, Bernard Edward Smith and Susan Peterson. The pair had divorced nearly 20 years ago, and police believe the divorce may have been a factor in the incident. Smith shot Peterson before taking his own life. No other injuries were reported among the 67 employees and approximately 200 customers in the store at the time. The store will be closed on Monday to provide support to affected employees.
