"Former Mississippi officers to plead guilty in alleged torture of Black men"

Six former Mississippi law enforcement officers are expected to plead guilty to state charges of conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice in the alleged torture and abuse of two Black men. The officers, who have already pleaded guilty to federal charges, are accused of kicking down the door of a home, assaulting the men for two hours, and using excessive force. The victims have filed a federal lawsuit, and the officers face a combined 13 felonies.
