Former Philadelphia Police Officer Sentenced for Serial Sexual Assault of Minors and Women

A former Philadelphia police officer, Patrick Heron, has been convicted after pleading guilty to the sexual abuse and assault of minors and women, including crimes committed while on duty. Charged with 218 counts, including kidnapping and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, Heron was sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison. Officials discovered a large amount of digital evidence, including images and videos showing Heron abusing and assaulting women and girls in his patrol vehicle. Additionally, a former Roman Catholic priest, Armand Garcia, pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.
