Gas station clerk charged for locking customers in before shooting.

A Detroit gas station clerk, Al-Hassan Aiyash, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a customer who was shot by a shoplifter. Aiyash had locked the door to stop the theft before the shooting occurred. His lawyer argued that he was doing his job and didn't commit a crime. A magistrate set bond at $200,000. The shooter, Samuel McCray, has been charged with murder and other crimes. Detroit police Chief James White said he would support a local ban on stores locking people inside.
