Gas station clerk charged with manslaughter for locking doors before shooting in Detroit.

A gas station clerk in Detroit, Al-Hassan Aiyash, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter after locking three patrons inside the store with a suspected gunman, Samuel Anthony McCray, during an argument over less than $4. McCray eventually shot three people, killing one. Aiyash had locked the doors electronically in an attempt to prevent theft, and he eventually did unlock the doors without telling anyone, only after McCray threatened violence and seconds before McCray began shooting. Aiyash's lawyer argues that the charge against his client is a reach by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office and Detroit police.
