Gymgoers disarm hatchet-wielding attacker in heroic act.

Four gymgoers in California detained a hatchet-wielding madman who was holding a victim hostage inside a Planet Fitness gym. Ronald Chand had stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife and hatchet in the parking lot before the victim ran into the gym seeking refuge. The group of good Samaritans detained Chand until police arrived, ripping his knife and hatchet away and keeping him pinned to the floor. The victim was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Chand was booked on an attempted murder charge with a bail of $1,000,000.
