High-profile figures, including Alex Murdaugh, to face court in Beaufort County for various charges

Alex Murdaugh, who is facing over 100 financial crimes, will go on trial for those charges on November 27th, following his guilty plea to federal charges of stealing millions of dollars from clients. Former Palmetto State Bank CEO Russell Laffitte, convicted on six federal charges and sentenced to 84 months in prison, appealed his sentence and appeared in court for a status hearing. Former attorney Cory Fleming, who conspired with Murdaugh to take money from a wrongful death settlement, was set to be sentenced after pleading guilty to state charges.
