High-speed chase ends in I-5 Freeway standoff.

A cross-county pursuit of a suspect driving a red Toyota RAV 4 ended in a brief standoff on the I-5 Freeway in Los Angeles County. The California Highway Patrol successfully used a PIT maneuver to stop the suspect's car after deploying spike strips. Officers fired less-than-lethal rounds into the driver's car before bringing the suspect into custody. The pursuit caused traffic to halt on the freeway.
