Indiana woman charged with hate crime for stabbing IU student

An Indiana woman has been indicted on a federal hate crime count for stabbing an 18-year-old Chinese student in January. Billie Davis, 56, allegedly told police that she stabbed the student for "being Chinese" and "it would be one less person to blow up our country." Davis has a long history of severe mental illness, according to her public defender. The victim survived the attack, and there was no interaction between Davis and the student before the stabbing.
